Topic

Over the weekend, the Year 3 teachers read something that made ourselves think!
Right now, all of us are part of living history – this will be talked about for generations to come.

As an Art/DT project which could involve all other subjects too, we would like you to begin creating a journal. It could be handwritten, typed, in photographs, drawings – anything! Record events, day to day activities, fears and feelings.
Take a video journal if that’s the media you would prefer!
Ask your parents if you can interview them, let them be a part of it.
When this is all over, you’ll be able to save it or store it in a safe place.
This will be YOU creating YOUR OWN tangible, primary source of your own history.

hurricane

We are learning to compare hurricanes to other natural disasters.

Look at information about hurricanes online.

Can you identify facts about hurricanes and then compare them to another natural disaster of your choice?

Try to compare and contrast the information they have and the facts as well as the natural disaster itself. You could also compare and contrast where it happened and the amount of publicity it had.

You could do this in a table – hurricanes on one side and your chosen natural disaster on the other!

Some information about hurricanes can be found here.
